Library Updates - June 4, 2020

Happy June, everyone.

You have probably heard that Governor Whitmer has lifted the stay-at-home order, and has allowed libraries to open beginning Monday, June 8. While we have missed serving you, we will not be ready to open again that soon. We will need time to prepare the building to receive and serve you in ways that adhere to the Governor’s orders and, more importantly, to keep you and the staff safe. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a date; but we will let you know as soon as we have one.

We will not open everything at once; and we will continue to have online programs. We will be reopening in phases; and we will communicate them to you soon.

Do not worry about the books you have at home. They are not due until the end of the month; and you will NOT have late fines.

Be sure to watch for the reopening date.

Thank you so very much for your gracefulness throughout this entire event, and throughout the upcoming reopening process.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel; and we can see it!

Adam DeWitt,
Library Director
